Here's a list of some things to do this summer!
- Maryland Dove: Explore a reproduction of the ships that made the first expedition to Maryland.
- Woodland Indian Hamlet: Discover how the Yaocomao people lived and "Join the staff in learning and experimenting with the skills necessary to build and run a small village like that of Indigenous people of the region."
- Godiah Spray Tobacco Plantation: Step back in time and explore a working 1st-person plantation set in the year 1667. Become familiar with 350+ plants used for food and medicine, and meet the livestock!
- St. John's Site Museum: Visit most important historic sites in Maryland, this was the place where a woman first asked for the right to vote, and where the first individual of African descent participated in a general assembly of the colonial government. View preserves the foundation of the home that stood here throughout the 17th century and original artwork
- Go hiking, kayaking, enjoy the beaches, and fishing at the many different state parks ( Piney Point State Park, Greenwell State Park, Point Lookout State Park).
- Goldpetals Farm: A beautiful flower maze that allows you to pick your own flowers!
- Historic Sotterley: A maintained plantation (the oldest and largest in the U.S.). Learn about the history, legacy of slavery, walk the grounds, discover life as it was back in the 18th century, and get a better understanding of the world back then that helped shape the world we live in today.
- Old Jail Museum: Take a tour of the oldest sheriffs office in the nation still standing, where underground railways were connected to the building and runaway slaves were held.
- Brick Chapel of 1667: A monument to religious freedom, where there is the Lead Coffin Exhibit, through a clear glass floor, you can see the original lead coffin coverings of three 17th century colonists.
- St Clement's Island Museum: The museum focuses on the English history that preceded the voyage to Maryland relating the religious and political issues of the 16th and 17th centuries, learn of the voyage of the Ark and the Dove departing from the Isle of Wight in England on the feast day of St. Clement, the patron saint of mariners, following their treacherous crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, braving pirates and dangerous storms, and their venture up the Chesapeake Bay to the Potomac River, the Potomac Room shares this river’s heritage of the Blackistone Lighthouse once on St. Clement’s Island, and has so many more things to explore!
- Patuxent Naval Air Museum: PRNAM focuses on the research, development, test and evaluation environment, also displays concepts that never made it to the Fleet that makes the Museum’s collection all the more unique. Artifacts and simulators, films and books spanning the history of Naval Aviation are topped off with a display of over 22 one-of-a-kind aircraft that you can walk right up to make the Museum dynamic and memorable.
- MD International Raceway: The largest motor sports facility in Maryland, see the most exciting machines in drag racing, Pro Stocks, Pro Mods, Funny Cars, Jet Cars and more.

- St. Ines Coffee: A family-run coffee roastery in Southern Maryland dedicated to providing fresh-roasted, delicious, responsibly-sourced coffee! They have a living room for visiting, studying, reading and a family room for families to play and read together and both rooms are lined with used books for sale!

- The Slice House: The owner of The Slice House is a second generation Italian/ German who was born in the Bronx and raised in Massapequa, Long Island. Serving a a really good, authentic, New York style thin crust pizza, they have the best pizza found south of New Jersey.
- The Front Porch: Serving Southern Coastal Cuisine, they offer casual dining in a cozy atmosphere and our friendly staff delivers gracious service.
- Pax River Ale House: A modern take on the classic neighborhood bar and grill, they're a great place to come together, catch the game or have a meal with friends or family.
- Port of Leonardtown Winery: Partnering with St. Mary's County and Leonardtown, interested farmers and others with a passion for wine set in motion a plan to ensure the success of wine grape growing in Southern Maryland. The mission is to promote the wine industry in Southern Maryland while producing a good economic return to investors and members.
