Established 1683, home to more than 3,311 people. A small part of Calvert County, with a big impact on everyone that visits or lives there. Having a very homely and country feel, there are plenty of gems found within.

Bowens Grocery
Opened in 1929 with the name "Mogk", after the owners Frederick and Frances Mogck, then owned by Gordon and Gracie Bowen with the name changed to "Bowen's Grocery", mostly referred to as "Bowen'", in 1964, and now owned by Johnny Gott and The Gott Company. Bowen's has never failed to please everyone that walks in. Famous for homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, meats, and desserts — not to mention fresh oysters in season and fresh crabmeat. Lets not forget all the kids favorite, the ice cream part, supplied with Hershey's ice cream and sprinkles! Bowen's is a local favorite and hot spot for any needs. And if anything is needed, they don't hesitate to make a special order just for you!
Though the ownership has been past down now three times, it's never been handled over to just anyone. Gordon was the grandson of to the Mogk's. The new owners, The Gott's, are no strangers either. They, also known as "Q-Dog Quality Discount Oil and Gas", have been supplying gas to Bowen's for over 20 years now. Along with Bowen's, they also run some Fastop Convenience stores. Bowen's is a must have while in Huntingtown, even if you're just passing through.
Old Town BBQ and Café
Right next to Bowen's is Old Town BBQ and Café, one of the best places for barbecue. They slow cook their meats for 14-18 hours, then their signature sauces are added to it. Their ribs are rubbed then smoked for 4-6 hours, their beef is marinated for 24 hours and smoked for 6-7 hours. Chicken and turkey have their house blend rubbed on them and smoked for 5-6 hours. All sides are homemade and everything is tasted before served to ensure they are only supplying customers with the absolute best. Feel free to walk in and grab whatever you crave, or have them cater any event you may have.
Kings Landing
Kings Landing is a park that is managed by Calvert County's Natural Resources Division. The park is located on the Patuxent River and is a favorite place for kayakers, canoeists, and fishermen. The history of the park stretches back to Captain John Smith’s exploration and earlier, it was once a farm, then a YMCA camp before becoming the park it is today. Not only does it offer a great pier to fish off of and a way to put kayaks and canoes in, it also offers a pool and trails. The trails allow you to get in great exercise, dogs are allowed too, some even bringing you to the water of the creek and marshes. Equestrian trails are available as well, as long as the owner obtains a permit. The equestrian facility includes a 150 x 300 riding ring, judge’s stand, restrooms, and water hydrants. They're picnic pavilions and Tom Wisner Hall are perfect for group picnics, family reunions, wedding receptions and other events, and the grounds allow for camping  for youth groups.
The Lobby Coffee Bar and Café
Known as Calvert's best coffee shop and café for four years in a row. The shop is located inside of  "Chesapeake Church" and offers all sorts of drinks and  foods. They pride themselves in knowing the customers and their orders, as well as giving back to the community with every order, a portion goes to End Hunger in Calvert County as well as Honduras Compassion Partners. It is a must have for your morning coffees and brunches!

These are just a few of the landmarks in Huntingtown, Maryland. As you travel around, more can be found in town right next to Huntingtown, but known the less, all are amazing and must tries.
