Hollywood is an unincorporated community located within St. Mary's County, Maryland. It was named in 1867, when a store owner at Thompson's General Store near the Union town section of Hollywood required a name for the post office inside the store. The
store owner was inspired by the gigantic holly tree planted in front of the store and named the post office Hollywood.
When it comes to food, i would say Hollywood has got you covered. I hear nothing but good things aboutThe Cow and Fish on Three Notch Road. You can even get a taste of Northern India when dining at Bollywood Masala, which also
has an attached tavern. If you are looking to dine outside along the Patuxent River, visit Stoney’s at Clarke’s Landing. Dine inside the remodeled Clarke’s Landing location, or enjoy your meal outdoors on the deck with stunning views of the
river. You can even come by boat and dock along the pier just down from the outside deck.
